In a confusing and disruptive time, William is curious about what life was like during the last war. How do our present experiences compare to living during a world war? William wanted to see the comparisons through a lens. After some research and planning, he took a series of photographs in Central London and documented areas that are usually swarming with tourists. As a result of the pandemic, streets and attractions are empty or closed. After his London shoot, William created multiple overlays of his photos. He has also recorded the flicking of the pages of a book illustrating London during World War II. William’s grandmother also has a role in the video, talking about her experiences during both the war and the coronavirus pandemic. William has produced a Premiere slideshow showcasing his ideas.
