Ursula Raven’s Visible and Invisible series is based on her passion for photography and surrealism. She loves the way surrealism informs a different/made-up world.
Ursula destroys the original meaning of her photographs, showing that she has both lost and gained her image. The most important thing to her is that the images are silent and still. She changes her photos radically, inviting the audience to closely examine the details of each work and consider what it represents.
Ursula has a preference for colour photography. Her photographs contain bursts of strong, vibrant colours even before she uses Photoshop to transform them into the surrealist images that create an imaginary world.
